  • All IRS.gov Web page addresses begin with www.irs.gov. To access the IRS Web site, type the IRS.gov address into your Web browser’s address window. Don’t ever trust a website you arrive to via an e-mailed link.
  • The IRS is not currently providing advance payments to taxpayers.
  • The only way to apply for a tax refund is to file a tax reform. There is no separate application form.
  • The IRS does not gather information, including financial information, from taxpayers by telephone or email.
