Phishing on Social Networks

Social networking sites can provide similar context for phishers, who are able to harvest information about potential victims from online profiles and send emails that appear to come from within the victim's friends network. According to one study, nearly three-quarters of users of sites like MySpace and Facebook would submit personal data after following a link in an email sent by someone they believe to be in their network¹.
